Openwork launches conveyancing service

Openwork has launched a conveyancing service to provide advisers with access to legal help, Paul Shearman has said.

The mortgage and protection proposition director at Openwork said the network had developed the service with United Legal Services and it would provide prioritised searches to help speed up the process.

Mr Shearman said: “As part of our review of the mortgage proposition, conveyancing was identified firstly as an area with significant potential for new growth, and secondly as an area that we wanted to improve further from a service perspective for the benefit of the end customer.”

The service also means clients will receive a 10 per cent discount on the legal fees for their next conveyancing case.

Openwork has also obtained commitments from a number of its panel lenders to incorporate its conveyancing service into their product design processes.

Mike Richards, director of London-based Mortgage Concepts Associates, said: “I don’t usually have problems with solicitors during the conveyancing process for a while.

“If you choose one on a panel they are all very efficient and I imagine they will be using the same sort of solicitor.”
