Liverpool most affordable part of UK

Liverpool is the most affordable part of the UK to buy a house, according to analysis by an Oxford University professor.

Professor Danny Dorling, Oxford University’s Halford Mackinder Professor of Geography, carried out the research for his new book on housing.

In Liverpool, house prices are 5.8 times less expensive relative to the local average annual income.

The most expensive part of the UK, according to Prof Dorling’s research, was Oxford, where average house prices are 15 times the average annual income compared with 14 in London.
