GenLife payroll portal aimed at firms’ AE obligations

A new payroll portal will help employers and advisers handle auto-enrolment and other activities, Arnold Ayton has said.

The platforms and partnership manager for master trust provider GenLife said the launch of the Payroll Agent portal was “pioneering and would make it the perfect tool for bureaux that handle hundreds of employers’ payroll and auto-enrolment obligations”.

Ahead of April’s regulatory and legislative changes, and the obligation for all companies to be auto-enrolment ready by 2018, Mr Ayton said GenLife was offering businesses – along with their employees and advisers – a flexible approach to savings, with greater efficiency.

He said: “The requirement for all companies to be auto-enrolment ready by 2018 is putting considerable pressure on payroll users who currently face a time-consuming process to manually input employee information.

“Our new technology simplifies this complex operation by automatically transferring data between different systems.”

Neil Swainson, director of Derbyshire-based HFB Financial Planning, said: “Auto-enrolment can be a very confusing process for many small and medium-sized enterprises which may not have in-house specialists.

“Our advisers are dealing with AE cases daily.”
