Legal & General Mortgage Club has been hosting a series of events in April aimed at educating financial advisers on pressing topics affecting the mortgage marketplace.
The final two events will take place on 27 April in Lingfield in Surrey, with speaker Paul Smee, director general at the Council of Mortgage Lenders, and on 29 April in Solihull in the West Midlands with speaker Paul Broadhead, head of mortgage policy at Building Societies Associations.
They are being hosted by Jeremy Duncombe, director of L&G’s Mortgage Club, and are addressing topics such as lending to the over-50s, the effects of an interest rate rise, re-mortgaging, protection and regulation.
Mr Duncombe said: “The range of speakers and panel members means we have been able to provide advisers with insights and in-depth views on various topics from the movers and shakers of the industry. We will be covering all the topics that are expected to stimulate demand in the market this year.”
Daniel Smethurst, director at JonSimon Financial Advice, based in Manchester, said: “Any event that aims to help financial advisers become more clued-up in the area they offer advice in is only a good thing. The industry has strived to improve standards and professionalism to benefit both the adviser and the end consumer.”
