Aegon UK managing director promoted to US business

David Macmillan, Aegon’s UK managing director, is leaving the role to take up a promotion within the group’s US business.

Mr Macmillan will take over as chief customer experience officer of Transamerica in the summer.

The role is based in the US and Aegon said it is designed to help the company to transform the experience delivered to its 22m customers.

An Aegon spokesperson said: “Chief marketing officer David Macmillan has been promoted to a new role within the Aegon group.

“This summer he will move to Transamerica to be chief customer experience officer and a replacement will be announced in due course.”

Prior to his role at Aegon, Mr Macmillan held the role of chief executive officer of a debt solutions and insolvency services business called Invocas.

He also held the role of chief executive at Barrie and Hibbert, a financial services consultancy.
