Threadneedle hires Mark Nichols from F&C

Columbia Threadneedle Investments has hired European equity manager Mark Nichols from F&C Investments.

Mr Nichols has been appointed as a portfolio manager within Threadneedle’s European equities, which is led by Philip Dicken and manages £17.8bn in retail and institutional money.

At F&C, Mr Nichols had been a director on its European equities team and manager on the F&C European Growth & Income.

Prior to joining F&C, Mr Nichols had previously worked at Lehman Brothers and Invesco.

David Moss, head of European equities has taken over as manager on the £377.4m European Growth and Income fund. Mr Moss has been alternate manager on the fund and worked with Mr Nichols for the past four years.

The fund has returned 66.7 per cent in the three years to the end of April, while its benchmark, the FTSE AW Developed Europe ex UK, returned 57.7 per cent in the same period, according to the factsheet.
