Jupiter replaces Curling with Zimmerman on small cap fund

Jupiter has promoted James Zimmerman to manage its UK Smaller Companies fund, leaving former manager Richard Curling to concentrate on his other funds.

Mr Zimmerman has been assistant fund manager on the vehicle since he returned to Jupiter in October 2014.

He had first joined the firm as an equities analyst in 2011 but left to work for a year as a global generalist analyst at Rockefeller & Co in New York.

Jupiter said Mr Curling would now devote his time to managing the Jupiter Fund of Investment Trusts, co-managing the Jupiter Primadona Growth Trust and the Jupiter Monthly Income fund, as well as running institutional assets.

Mr Curling had run the UK Smaller Companies fund since March 2006 and had delivered a return of 78.1 per cent, according to FE Analytics.

He had outperformed the FTSE Small Cap (ex ITs) index return of 63.3 per cent but underperformed the IA UK Smaller Companies sector’s average return of 111 per cent.
