Robert Peston guest speaker at AllianzGI global markets forum

Allianz Global Investors is set to host its investment trust forum for advisers this month in London.

The event, scheduled to take place on 18 June, will explore what lies ahead for the global markets and how managers are positioning their portfolios.

Speakers at the event include Neil Dwane, chief investment officer, European equity, at AllianzGI and Simon Gergel, chief investment officer, UK equities and portfolio manager at The Merchants Trust plc.

In addition, Lucy MacDonald and Jeremy Thomas, the co-managers of global growth trust at The Brunner Investment Trust plc, will share their views on the trends and opportunities they are seeing in both UK and global markets.

Other notable speakers include Walter Price, manager of Allianz Technology Trust, who will provide an outlook on the technology sector, and the BBC’s economics editor Robert Peston.

Mr Price will provide an outlook on the technology sector as well as share his views on where the exciting investment opportunities lie following a wave of innovation in the industry. The forum will also feature insights from Mr Peston.

The inaugural Investment Trust Forum will provide a platform for advisers to discuss opportunities, both in the UK and global markets, with our most senior fund managers, to help them enable their clients make the most of the current market environment.”

Mike Malster, managing partner at Martin-Redman Partners, based in Suffolk, said: “I think that investment forums are useful – although I find some more helpful than others.”
