Second charge broker gains full authorisation

Fluent Money has received the green light from the regulator and is now one of the first and only second charge distributors to be fully authorised.

Based in Bolton, Fluent Money’s joint managing director Tim Wheeldon said that full authorisation gives introducers and network partners a real sense of dealing with a business that has the complete answer to their needs.

Fluent’s nod from the Financial Conduct Authority comes ahead of advising and selling standards being introduced for second charge mortgage brokers from 21 March 2016.

Master brokers will need to be fully authorised by the FCA, incorporating mortgage permissions, to enable them to continue offering second charges under the new regulatory regime.

Mortgage sellers have until 21 September 2018 to obtain the required level three qualification.

Mr Wheeldon added: “Not only do we offer a genuine whole of market proposition for brokers and their clients, but also, with full authorisation having been granted, our introducers can have real confidence and complete peace of mind in working closely with Fluent Money.”
