Rathbones is gearing up for an adrenaline-fuelled adventure as principal sponsor of a project to construct a bicycle which will attempt to break the human-powered land-speed record.

The project will see a team of undergraduate students from the University of Liverpool’s school of engineering develop the bike, called ARION1, and attempt to bring the record for fastest human-powered vehicle to the UK for the first time.

Philip Howell, chief executive of Rathbones, said: “Becoming the principal sponsor of ARION1 is a wonderful opportunity to support an enterprising project at the cutting edge of technology and to encourage this team of engineering students.”
