As the financial community ponders the annual report from the FCA and consider chief executive Martin Wheatley’s tenure, financial advisers may like to know that he has a nickname.
According to the FT, he is known as the “Grey Vampire”. One nameless employee said: “As rank-and-file employees we just don’t get to see him.”
The FCA is not commenting on it, unsurprisingly. Perhaps it’s a little beneath the regulator’s dignity.
