Robert Fletcher has been elected as the 119th president of the Chartered Insurance Institute at the organisation’s annual general meeting, held in London today (22 July).
He is currently secured lending operations director at Lloyds Banking Group and previously worked in a range of commercial marketing and distribution roles at Aviva.
Mr Fletcher succeeds industry veteran and chairman of Brokerbility, Ashwin Mistry after three years in the role.
Members of the CII also voted chartered insurance broker and Thomas Carroll Group chairman John Moore as the new deputy president.
Mr Fletcher paid tribute to Mr Mistry, saying he worked tirelessly in promoting higher levels of professionalism over the past year.
“The CII’s mission to raise standards in insurance and financial services is a cause that the whole profession should get behind,” he added.
