Friendly society hires adviser support for protection

Cirencester Friendly has appointed Jessica Arthurs as an account manager, joining the sales team responsible for supporting the intermediary sector.

Previously a senior customer care assistant for the firm she will now be the first point of contact for new and existing financial advisers, providing individual income protection contracts ‘My Earnings Insurance’ and ‘Income Assured Plus’.

Ms Arthurs has worked for the society for more than five years in the customer care team, with chief executive Paul Hudson stating that she is a confident and knowledgeable member of staff.

She added: “It is a very busy time for the society after releasing our new product My Earnings Insurance and I’m very excited about introducing our fantastic products to advisers.”

Cirencester Friendly paid out on 94 per cent of protection claims last year, with annual premium income up close to 5 per cent to £14.9m in 2014.

Last month, Cirencester appointed Andrew Horsley as its new company secretary and head of compliance. Back at the start of April, John Bridge retired from his role as director of sales and marketing, following a short period of illness.
