The pensions industry has seen many firsts over the past year or so, but the first auto-enrolment comedy sketch might not have been something George Osborne had in mind.
The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals wrapped up its conference on auto-enrolment with a hotly anticipated comic turn by Andy Agathangelou, the body’s head of pensions.
The sketch, called We’re All In, was about a fish and chip shop owner who failed to enrol his staff into a pension.
Whether the CIPP has hit upon something, only time will tell – though we suspect not. For better or worse this looks set to be one of those ‘you had to be there’ moments.
