IFA firm starts backing local business with son’s firm

Cambridgeshire-based IFA firm Beacon Wealth Management is getting behind local enterprise by supporting local businesses, Tony Larkins has said.

“It can be very hard to start a business and we believe in supporting local businesses and helping them grow,” the chartered and certified financial planner, and director of Beacon, said.

The IFA and law firm Jeffrey Mills Solicitors, which Beacon acquired in May, have teamed up to sponsor personal trainer Alex Larkins.

Mr Larkins said the move would provide a more rounded service for clients. “While Alex is my son, we have only chosen to sponsor his company because of his professionalism and connection to our vision. I am excited to see how we can progress this sponsorship in the future.”

Mr Larkins added that they also hoped to change the perception of financial services and legal firms.

“We believe that by finding different ways to connect with our audience, it not only enhances our proposition, but changes people’s perception, making it easier for them to relate to us,” he said.

Background

In February, Mr Larkins was made a PFS chartered champion, with a remit to promote industry status in the Peterborough and Milton Keynes areas.

In March the firm sponsored the local Business of the Year category at the St Neots community and business awards.
