Punter Southall Health and Protection has launched an affordable and around the clock telephone GP facility for employers.

The Med24 Service provides guaranteed access to UK-based practising GPs 24/7, 365 days a year, along with an e-consultation facility and the option of private prescriptions with medication delivered directly to home or work.

Users have access to an extensive library of medically validated fact sheets, including 1100+ health conditions, treatments, travel advice and immunisation, together with a facility to store their own medical information.

Jan Lawson, executive director of Punter Southall Health and Protection, commented that medical helplines are nothing new, but what sets this service apart is it does not just give restricted time slots specified by the provider.

“We are particularly pleased to have developed a service for our clients with real breadth and depth at a fraction of the cost of other heavily marketed services.”

The service is provided in conjunction with Medical Solutions UK, which employs more than 50 currently practising NHS GPs to ensure that the service is robust and that all medical advice is up to date, following proper NHS protocols and GMC best practice.

The service can be accessed from anywhere in the world via an application on any smart phone, tablet, laptop or PC or by telephone without restrictions on number or duration of consultations.
