Former shadow work and pensions secretary Rachel Reeves has joined the Treasury Select Committee.
The Labour MP for Leeds West, who chose not to join the shadow cabinet after Jeremy Corbyn’s election as her party’s leader, will replace Bill Esterson.
Mr Esterson, also a Labour MP, has been appointed shadow minister for small businesses.
Before becoming shadow works and pension secretary Ms Reeves was shadow chief secretary to the Treasury.
She entered Parliament in 2010 before which she was an economist at the Bank of England and British Embassy in Washington, DC.
Work and pensions select committee member Debbie Abrahams has also been appointed to the Labour frontbench team, as shadow minister for disabled people.
She is being replaced by Steve McCabe.
