NAPF becomes PLSA

The National Association of Pension Funds has changed its name to the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association.

Joanne Segars, chief executive of the NAPF, said the trade body made the move because it wanted to look beyond pensions and also speak about lifetime savings.

Ms Segars said: “Retirement simply doesn’t look like it used to – today people work later in life and they fund their retirement in all sorts of ways.

“The lines are blurring between work and retirement, between pensions and other forms of saving, and between scheme and saver responsibility.”

Ms Segars made the announcement at the NAPF’s conference in Manchester last week. For more coverage of the NAPF conference, see page 27.
