Specialist lender hires BDM duo and promises more staff soon

Buy-to-let specialist Fleet Mortgages has appointed two new field-based business development managers.

Kathryn Sheppard will cover Northern England, while Paul Rockett will be in charge of the south west.

Ms Sheppard has previously worked for HSBC, but joins having worked most recently for Golden Charter.

Her region covers Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Leeds and Sheffield.

Mr Rockett has previously worked for TBMC, Verso, Pink Home Loans, Paragon and Birmingham Midshires, although most recently has been running his own luxury chocolate and fudge business.

His region covers Bristol, Plymouth, Southampton, Exeter and South Wales.

Both will report to sales director Ross Turrell, and are likely to be joined by a number of further new regional BDMs appointments in the coming months.

Fleet Mortgages is actively recruiting for further members of staff to join a number of its departments.

The lender has grown from 18 employees a year ago, up to 40 now, with the expectation that 50 members of staff will be in place by Christmas.

It anticipates that 30 new employees will join the business over the next 12 months.

Fleet Mortgages only deals with the intermediary market and its products are tailored towards experienced landlords and property investors.

It covers mainstream buy-to-let residential mortgages as well as finance for those investing through limited company vehicles and houses in multiple occupation.

Since its launch late in 2014, the Hampshire-based company has expanded its intermediary distribution coverage, with a 30 per cent growth in staff numbers since the start of the year.

Bob Young, chief executive at Fleet Mortgages, said it is “vitally important” to continue recruiting quality individuals who help deliver in all areas.

“Working closely with our regional intermediary partners is extremely important in order to support their endeavours in the buy-to-let sector and to educate and inform on the range of product solutions we can offer their clients.

“Very shortly we will be announcing further new appointments, not just to the sales team, but also right throughout the business.”
