Axa Investment Managers (Axa IM) has launched a fund to give investors access to bonds issued by environmentally-friendly companies.
The Axa WF Planet Bonds fund will invest both in “pure green bonds” but also in bonds from companies with “a high environmental impact”.
Green bonds are specifically designed to fund projects which generate environmental benefits, such as renewable energy projects.
Axa IM said the green bonds sector was still fairly small, which is why it had widened the fund’s remit to include companies that score highly on the firm’s internal environment, social and governance (ESG) assessment.
The Luxembourg-domiciled Sicav has a sterling share class and is available to retail investors in the UK.
