Mr Brown joins the firm from Mitsubishi UFJ Asset Management, where he co-managed a European value and momentum fund.
His arrival follows that of Carlos Moreno, who was hired from JO Hambro Capital Management in the summer. Miton said it plans to launch its European equities fund by the end of the year.
Mr Brown previously worked with Mr Moreno at Thames River Capital, where he was an analyst and assistant fund manager on a European equities vehicle.
Ian Dighé, chairman of Miton, said the asset manager was confident the new fund would be well received by investors.
“Our genuinely active approach to investing is resonating with investors by providing differentiated and complementary funds,” he added.
