The industry’s best providers were acknowledged at Financial Adviser’s landmark 25th Service Awards on 19 November, which saw Prudential named the company of the year.
Also, Axa Wealth received a one-off 25th Anniversary Award for having consistently delivered the highest level of service as voted by our readers.
Bow ties were unravelled and meticulously made-up hair was let down in the course of the swanky affair, hosted at London’s Natural History Museum.
The highbrow affair was hosted by comedian Tim Vine, who entertained guests with several gags and one-liners, before handing out the awards.
One of his more notable jokes was: “I went to see my doctor and said: ‘Every time I pass from one country to another I have to have a drink.’ He said that I am a borderline alcoholic.”
Armed with a box of biros, the comedian also performed a somewhat surreal 10-minute segment that saw him attempt to throw a pen behind his ear, accompanied by dramatic music with the repeating lyrics: “Pen behind the ear”.
Musical entertainment was provided by the ACM Gospel Choir, who sang a number of well-known hits from different genres.
As the formal part of the event drew to a close, twinkle-toed revellers took to the dancefloor to showcase their moves at the after-party until the early hours of the morning.
Congratulations to all the winners!
