Schroders recruits to focus on smart beta

Schroders has made two new appointments in its Multi-asset Investments and Portfolio Solutions (MAPS) business with a focus on expanding “advanced beta” capabilities across asset classes.

Mike Kleyn, who has previously worked on developing and researching fixed income strategies at ABN Amro and BlackRock, joins to work in the advanced beta [smart beta] team.

Duncan Shand, who joined Schroders as a senior adviser on a consultancy basis in September 2014, has been appointed to the same team on a permanent basis.

Mr Shand previously worked for BlackRock in its global markets strategies group.
