Defaqto hires ex-Sesame director

Independent research house Defaqto has hired Pan Andreas as head of insight for its funds and discretionary fund management team.

Mr Andreas, who will begin his new role in January next year, was formerly the managing director for wealth management of Sesame Bankhall Group.

He has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial advice sector, having held senior roles with Henderson, Intrinsic and Towry Law.

Mr Andreas will lead the delivery of Defaqto’s ratings and risk-rated funds and models, as well as publications and consultancy.

Defaqto said these propositions help financial advisers select suitable and appropriate funds and portfolios for their clients.

Frank Potaczek has taken the newly created role of senior vice president (funds and DFMs).

In this new role, Mr Potaczek will increase his focus on supporting fund management and intermediary clients, along with boosting Defaqto’s event presence in the UK.

He joined Defaqto in January 2014.

Zahid Bilgrami, chief executive at Defaqto, said:“We have experienced tremendous growth and uptake of our ratings and also our risk-rated funds over the last 12 months, and Pan’s breadth and depth of experience will help with accelerating this growth going forward.”
