Lighthouse Group secures trade union contract

Lighthouse Group has won a two-year contract to be the “preferred provider” of financial advice to the General Federation of Trade Unions’ 215,000 members.

Under the terms of the contract, initiatied on 16 November this year, Lighthouse will offer financial advice on savings, investments, pensions and protection, and mortgages.

GTFU, which has 23 affiliates, is the federation for specialist trade unions and sections of larger, general unions.

It provides support and services, including education, research and project management.

Doug Nicholls, general secretary of GFTU said securing the contract means its members are able to receive financial planning on a “national basis”.

He also said it would ensure that they are “able to receive financial planning assistance in a reliable and consistent manner, no matter what their need”.

Malcolm Streatfield, chief executive of Lighthouse, said: “This is another new and exciting opportunity for us.

“We look forward to developing our relationship over the coming years and working closely with GFTU affiliate members to assist them with their financial planning requirements.

“The board remains committed to increasing our affinity partnerships throughout the UK”.
