Couples struggle

With pressure on families to look after elderly relatives, data from LV= suggests that millions of couples rely on a dual income to make ends meet.

A total of 3.2m couples need a double income, and a third of couples would have to make a significant lifestyle change if they lost one of their incomes.

As many as 45 per cent are dependent on both incomes, while one in seven (14 per cent) admit to struggling with two incomes.
