David Penny, managing director of Invest Southwest, was named Financial Adviser of the Year at Unbiased’s Media Awards in London last night (2 February).
The Young Financial Adviser of the Year was Sebastian Hurst, a chartered financial planner with London-based Plutus Wealth Management, who also won Bluebook Newcomer of the Year.
All of the nominated, commended, and winning media advisers were members of the Unbiased Bluebook, a resource for journalists looking for financial commentary, opinions and case studies.
All the categories were judged by a panel of industry experts and product providers, led by Karen Barrett, chief executive of adviser promotion website Unbiased.
Ms Barrett said: “If ever there was a time to appreciate the great media work of advisers and journalists, it is now.
“It has been a year of such big changes in the world of personal finance that people really need that resource of information if they are to understand the choices they face.”
