Stocks sell-off re-run of last year – RLAM

The recent sell-off in stocks feels like a re-run of last summer: a deflationary shock that prompted easier monetary policy and a recovery in stock prices.

According to the multi-asset team at Royal London Asset Management, 2016 began with a bout of stress centred on China and oil, and spreading to encompass the US economy and banks.

According to the firm’s Investment Clock report, the team expects to see significant monetary easing in March.
