Answering the call of Belarus

Lowes Financial Management has made a donation to Yorkshire charity Chernobyl Aid UK to fund a delivery of humanitarian relief items to the poor, sick and disabled people of Belarus.

Chernobyl Aid raises money for costs associated with the trip, but those on the convoy pay for their own accommodation, food and other personal costs.

The lorry, funded by the Lowes donation, will travel to Belarus from Stockton on Tees, where aid is prepared for distribution.

Lowes’ client Alan Miles, who is treasurer of the charity, said: “The support from Lowes Financial Management is a tremendous boost to our efforts to help the sick and infirm people of Belarus who live with the legacy of the Chernobyl explosion of 1986 in Ukraine.”
