OMGI China manager Lee leaves within two years

China manager Diamond Lee has left Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI) after less than two years at the fund house.

Mr Lee, who joined OMGI in November 2014 and ran the $62m (£46m) Old Mutual China Equity fund, left last month to pursue a career outside of asset management.

As a result Josh Crabb, head of Asian equities, has taken over as lead manager of the fund. The firm said objective of the portfolio had not changed and the rest of the Asian equities team remained in place.

OMGI recently made a number of hires for its Asian arm, including Japanese equity manager Rob Weatherston and Singapore head of sales Gerard Clancy.

“The team will look to add further top-class talent if the opportunity arises, which may potentially include recruiting another Chinese equity specialist,” the company said.
