Schroders has hired a sell-side veteran to the newly-created role of global head of strategy.
Huw van Steenis, who takes on the London-based role in the fourth quarter of this year, will be responsible for business strategy and corporate development.
He previously spent 14 years as managing director and global coordinator for banks and diversified financials research at Morgan Stanley, focusing on areas including the asset management industry. He previously worked for JPMorgan and the Boston Consulting Group.
Schroders chief executive Peter Harrison said: “Huw joins Schroders at a pivotal time for the industry.
“Our highly-diversified business model and strong financial position gives us a firm foundation on which to grow. We see many interesting long-term opportunities and will be taking advantage of our position to invest behind them.”
