BlackRock’s passive branch iShares has launched a range of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tracking global “megatrends” the company feels will be prominent in the coming years.
The four ETFs will aim to allow investors to take advantage of four global themes: an ageing population, healthcare innovation, digitalisation, and automatics and robotics.
iShares has collaborated with iSTOXX and FactSet to launch the thematic indices, which are rules-based with a systemic strategy and have been built using proprietary databases.
The underlying index for each vehicle will use a revenue-focused methodology and have a minimum of 80 constituents to avoid concentration risk.
Each fund has a total expense ratio of 0.4 per cent.
