National Counties rebrands mortgage business

National Counties and Family Building Society has rebranded its new mortgage business.

All of the building society’s mortgage products for new customers will now fall under the umbrella of the Family Building Society.

There are now three times as many mortgages available under the brand, including the debut of the society’s first buy-to-let products.

Owner occupiers applying for mortgages will not be charged a valuation fee for properties worth less than £500,000, while those with properties valued at above £500,000 will receive a £360 discount on the standard fee.

Remortgagers will also have access to free in-house legal services or receive £250 cashback if they prefer to make their own legal arrangements.

Family Building Society has also introduced a new secure document upload system to help speed up mortgage applications, along with online payment system to enable brokers to process application fees more speedily.

Brokers can still access the society’s full range of products via its dedicated intermediary website.

“The Family Building Society brand was very well received when we launched it just over two years ago,” said Keith Barber, the society's director of business development.

“It focuses on innovative and practical solutions for the mortgage needs of all generations, across both first time buyers, mid-life borrowers and in later life.

“Bringing all that we do under one brand umbrella will make it easier and simpler for our intermediary partners to use our solutions to help their clients with the issues they face.”
