RL360 launches app for advisers

RL360 has launched a tablet app that allows applications to be made for the company’s flagship regular premium savings product RL360 Quantum to be submitted online.

The product aims to provide a flexible and secure solution for advisers and their clients.

The app allows users to work offline and offers shortcuts to speed up the time taken to prepare an application, with built in validation checks to make sure everything is done correctly the first time.

Denzil Williams, director of customer services at R360, said the app has evolved to meet advisers’ growing appetite for technological solutions.

He said: “Advisers are adopting technology with a passion as they aim for ever higher standards of professionalism.

“Our tablet app offers a totally paperless application process. It eliminates the need for wet signatures and data and evidence can be collected electronically and, if necessary, offline too.”

Martin Bamford, managing director and chartered financial planner at Informed Choice Limited, said anything that simplifies the application process and cuts out unnecessary paperwork is welcome.

“The future of financial planning is undoubtedly electronic from an administration perspective, so the ability to process applications through a tablet and associated app is a step in the right direction.”

He added that before providers get app-happy and release a new app for every product line, there needs to be a common standards for data within retail financial services so that advisers can use a single app for every existing policy and apply for every new policy on behalf of their clients.

“Until product providers all collaborate on this, we risk carrying around an iPad loaded full of different apps, all of which need updating separately and unique training before use,” Mr Bamford said.
