Standard Life to recruit financial advisers

Standard Life's advice arm is looking to recruit more financial advisers, paraplanners and administrators.

Most of the positions are in 1825's Scotland offices which was formed after it bought Glasgow-based Munro Partnership last year.

As well as Munro Partnership the company has also bought Baigrie Davies and Pearson Jones but while a number of advisers have left since their firm was bought, 1825 said it is recruiting above and beyond their replacements.

Steve Murray, chief executive of 1825, said: “1825 is currently recruiting across the UK for 12 positions ranging from administrators to paraplanners and financial planners.

“We also expect further recruitment over the course of the year as we continue to grow the business and look to support more people at a time when it has never been more complex for people to retire.

“This recruitment is above and beyond the additional cohorts that we expect to be  joining our financial planning and para-planning traineeships later in the year.

“As we continue to build a UK wide financial planning business we are keen to attract enthusiastic ambitious people to continue to meet the demands of our clients.”

In September Standard Life pulled out of a planned deal with Almary Green after the companies "mutually agreed" to end discussions for undisclosed reasons.

The company is recruiting for three financial planners in Scotland, one paraplanner in Leeds and one in Glasgow, and a paraplanner team leader in or around Glasgow.
