Janus Henderson hires manager for multi-asset team

Dean Cheeseman has joined Janus Henderson Investors as a fund manager on the multi-asset team.

Mr Cheeseman will work out of the firm’s London office, reporting to Paul O’Connor, head of the multi-asset team.

Before joining Janus Henderson, Mr Cheeseman was a lead portfolio manager at Mercer, with responsibilities for managing more than US$5.8bn (£4.5bn) of active institutional strategies.

He brings more than 20 years of experience with companies such as F&C Asset Management and Morgan Stanley to his new position.

Mr O’Connor said: “I have known Dean for many years and believe his experience and calibre will bring great benefits to our team. Dean has an impressive track record of delivering attractive risk-adjusted returns for clients based on his skills in asset allocation and fund selection.

“His proven ability in raising assets will be invaluable as we focus on exploiting the many growth opportunities facing our multi-asset business at this time.”

Janus Henderson’s latest appointment coincides with the announcement that Chris Forgan, fund manager in the multi-asset team will be leaving the firm at the start of August.
