Berens ends 20 years at JP Morgan

Jasper Berens, head of UK funds at JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM), is leaving “to pursue other opportunities”, the company has said.

A JPMAM spokesman said Mr Berens would continue to serve the business for an interim period to ensure a smooth transition.

Commenting on his departure, Mr Berens said: “After 25 years in the industry, 20 of which have been with J.P. Morgan Asset Management, it’s time to take a break.

"It’s been a huge privilege to lead this business and I’m very proud of what we have achieved in the UK, as a market leading fund manager and thought leader."

The existing UK funds leadership team will now report into Massimo Greco, head of Emea funds.

Mr Greco said:: “Jasper has made an enormous contribution to our business, been a relentless advocate for our clients and our industry, and has done so with enthusiasm and passion.

"He has built an excellent leadership team and will work closely with us to ensure a seamless and smooth transition. We wish Jasper the very best in the future.”

Mr Berens joined predecessor company Robert Fleming & Co in 1997. He was promoted to head of sales in 2005 and head of UK funds business in 2012.

He started his career in fund sales at Guinness Flight and Hambros in 1993.
