Tilney hires Coutts planner to work alongside managers

Tilney has appointed Gary Jasper to the role of financial planner in its Chelmsford office.

Mr Jasper joined Tilney earlier this month as part of a strategy to deliver advice in a "two expert" approach, whereby financial planners work alongside investment managers.

Tilney operates as an investment management and financial planning group, managing more than £24bn of assets.

Previous to Tilney, Mr Jasper worked at Coutts for four years in the roles of wealth manager and director of specialist advisers supporting sports, media and entertainment personalities.

Richard Dawes, regional head of financial planning at Tilney, said: "Gary is highly experienced, having spent 17 years in the sector - he is extremely skilled at building and enhancing relationships with high net worth individuals and I know he will be a huge asset to the business.

"Our financial planning team across the country has continued to strengthen and grow over the past year, and it is testament to the business that we are able to attract high calibre candidates to our team."

Last year, Tilney saw a significant increase in assets, earnings and revenues in what it claimed to be a "record year" for the company.

In 2016, the firm completed its acquisitions of Towry and Ingenious Asset Management
