Sanlam UK has bolstered its wealth planning team in a national growth drive, with new recruits joining from rivals including St James's Place and Close Brothers.

In a statement today (September 16) the national adviser, which is part of global group Sanlam Ltd, announced it had recruited eight wealth planners across its London, Bristol, Fareham and Preston offices.

Sarb Chahal, formerly of Tideway Investment Partners, and Paul Johncock, formerly of Close Brothers, have joined Sanlam's London office as senior wealth planners and Jean-Michel Morelli has joined as a wealth planner from St James’s Place.

Paul Cadman has left NFU Mutual to join Sanlam's Fareham office as a senior wealth planner and Stuart Arnold and Chris Halliwell have joined the Bristol office as a senior wealth planner and wealth planner, joining from Charles Derby and Create Financial Consulting respectively.

The advice firm's Preston office has recruited Mike Walker from Prest and Jamie Reed from Pitch UK, both joining the business as wealth planners.

John White, chief executive of Sanlam’s wealth division, said the hires underline the company's commitment to growth and support its regional offering.

He said: "As we enhance the breadth and depth of our financial planning capabilities, it is important that we strengthen our UK-wide footprint.

"Bringing with them a wealth of experience as well as a deep knowledge of their local regions, these new team members will enable our regional offices to deliver an even greater level of client engagement, insight, and expertise to current and future clients. We’re delighted to welcome them to the Sanlam family."
