Brewin Dolphin has appointed Ian Kloss to the new role of head of nationals, networks, and international distribution in its intermediary team.

Kloss joins from Quilter International where was chief executive officer in Singapore and headed the south east Asia business between 2017 and 2021.

His career spans twenty years in the advisory, banking, and insurance sectors, with several senior roles including at HSBC and Quilter International.

In his new role at Brewin, Kloss will manage the company’s existing UK advisory partnerships as well as developing the firm’s intermediary proposition nationally and internationally in Jersey and the Republic of Ireland.

Commenting on the appointment, Brewin Dolphin head of intermediaries Antony Champion said: “Ian joins us at an exciting time for Brewin Dolphin’s intermediary business, as we continue to enhance our adviser propositions with the addition recently of the MI Brewin Dolphin Voyager Fund range and our Sustainable MPS portfolios.

“We look forward to seeing how Ian will bring his experience and vision, as he works with colleagues across the group, particularly with our Irish and Jersey operations, to enhance our intermediary distribution.”

Kloss added: “I am thrilled to have joined Brewin Dolphin, a company with a strong brand and heritage. I look forward to working with my new colleagues and seeing how we can offer the excellent intermediary propositions we have to a broader set of adviser clients.”

Brewin Dolphin saw its funds under management increase by 10.5 per cent to £52.6bn in the six months to the end of March.

Total discretionary funds were up 10.9 per cent to £45.7bn, which the firm attributed to discretionary investment performance (up 9.5 per cent) and positive net inflows.
