Henderson's Beesley to join Gam

Gam has poached Henderson's Matthew Beesley to become the firm's new head of equities.

Swiss group Gam has created the role for Mr Beesley, who from next week will work with the firm's equities teams to "optimise performance" and form a bridge with sales and marketing.

Mr Beesley held the same title at Henderson and leaves the firm after only three years. Prior to this he worked in portfolio management roles at Trinity Street, JPMorgan Asset Management and Mercury Asset Management in a career spanning 17 years.

Gam chief executive Alexander Friedman described Mr Beesley as a "world class" head of equities.

"His experience and success in developing and managing investment strategies will add great value to our differentiated equity investment offerings," he added.
