Meanwhile, Accord and Paragon have rallied from their respective one-star rating in 2015.

One star

The one-star, very poor service, category is sparse, with only three company listed compared to five in the previous instalment.

Cheltenham and Gloucester, which did not qualify last year, has ranked for the first time since achieving two-stars in 2013 – albeit in the lowest category.

Bridgewater Equity Release has lost a star over the past year and now occupies last position in the rankings.

All Types of Mortgages (AToM) has struggled to maintain a good level of service in the history of the survey. It managed to achieve a three-star rating for two consecutive years from 2013 but has since ranked in the bottom category.
