Mortgages: NatWest

A number of lenders upped the ante when it came to adviser services in the past year, but none more so than NatWest.

The lender is a worthy winner of the Most Improved accolade in the mortgage section after progressing from third place in the four-star category to usurp Halifax at the helm of the five-star category.

In many ways, this year marks a return to form for the lender, which ranked in the top band in both 2013 and 2014.

Graham Felstead, head of NatWest Intermediary Solutions, said: “We continue to grow the volume of business we receive from brokers and much of that is down to the excellent service we are able to offer. I think intermediaries were particularly pleased with the reliability and robustness of our processing times even when we had really busy periods.

"We continued to invest in great people and have a team of BDMs who are highly regarded by many brokers as the best in the business. To help support the great work they do we built our infrastructure to set up BDM Support, Broker Support and Broker Telephony teams to provide even more help to our broker partners."

Notable business developments for NatWest in the past year include the introduction of the day-one valuation instructions for all loans up to £500,000 and the launch of its revamped website.
