Netanya Clixby, managing associate for law firm Sidley Austin, commented: "It was a privilege to sit on the judging panel for FTAdviser’s Diversity in Finance Awards.
"As a black woman working in the financial sector, it is encouraging to see the commitment firms are making to improving diversity and inclusion across the industry.
"I was particularly impressed with the D&I initiatives that new entrants and incumbents have implemented and look forward to seeing the impact of a number of these projects on D&I statistics in the coming years."
Fellow judge Sharif Omar, director, finance and accounting, for Randstad, said: "I was truly impressed by the initiatives shared within all submissions, but most importantly by the tangible results, impact and changes happening as a consequence."
Thank you to all the judges.
All companies and candidates must work in UK regulated financial services companies and/or be registered with the Financial Conduct Authority.
Their submissions must showcase work done in the preceding 12 months (April 2021 to March 2022) and demonstrate quantifiable results as the outcome of their various initiatives and programmes.
Winning submissions demonstrate internal developments and DE&I processes as well as work carried out for consumers, customers and the wider community.
The DIFA 2022 candidates demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion above and beyond a mere tick-box approach, and it was not easy to come up with shortlists of two to three names. In many cases, there was only a hair’s width between some of the entries.
This was particularly the case for the Individual Diversity Champion award, which as usual received an incredible number of entries, and each candidate was an inspiration to our judges.
Some awards do not require a submission but are chosen by the judges, based on overall achievements in 2021 to March 2022 to improve diversity and inclusion for their colleagues, advisers and consumers.
The editor will unveil all these fantastic winners at our champagne reception on June 30.
