Franklin Templeton UK head to exit after 16 years

Franklin Templeton UK country head Ian Wilkins is to leave the firm in December after 16 years at the business.

Mr Wilkins, who joined the company in 2000, will leave on December 8 to pursue other opportunities. Emea managing director Vivek Kudva will manage the UK division until a replacement for Mr Wilkins has been found.

Retail sales head Alex Brotherston and institutional sales head Jill Barber will continue to run day-to-day distribution in the UK.

The firm said: "We would like to thank Ian for his contributions to the firm over the last 16 years.

"We do not expect Ian’s departure to cause disruption to our UK clients while we look internally and externally for a replacement.  The UK remains a key market where we see significant growth opportunities and we continue to invest strategically to grow our business."

Separately, the asset manager said it had appointed Michel Tulle to head its southern Europe and Benelux business as of January 2017. Mr Tulle has been at the company for 21 years and is currently based in Buenos Aires.
