Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI) won the Small to Mid Investment Group award following three consecutive years as a member of this category.

The firm, which is the asset management division of Old Mutual Wealth, was founded in 2012 following the merger of Old Mutual Asset Managers UK and Skandia Investment Group.

Funds under management in OMGI grew to £29bn at the end of September 2016, and it now has 286 employees, including 68 investment professionals.

The firm’s investment products cover long-only equities, fixed income, multi-asset portfolios and alternatives, and it has a presence in London, Edinburgh, Zurich, Milan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Boston and Miami.

Renowned fund manager Richard Buxton stepped up as chief executive in August 2015 following a shake-up at the top, and is supported by managing director Warren Tonkinson.

OMGI has an impressive four 100 Club 2016 member funds, including Old Mutual UK Dynamic Equity, Old Mutual UK Smaller Companies, Old Mutual North American Equity and Old Mutual Global Equity Absolute Return – two of which won in their respective categories this year.
