Kames Capital appoints head of £800m property range

Kames Capital has appointed Philip Bach to be responsible for all investment-related activity linked to its range of property funds.

Mr Bach, who has 23 years’ industry experience, will be tasked with looking after all the investments associated with the Kames Active Value Property fund, UK Active Value Property Unit Trust and Active Value Property Fund II.

Kames’ active value range targets the quality secondary commercial property market, particularly those properties in the £5m to £15m price bracket.

This comes a month after the announcement that Aviva Investors' Richard Peacock would be taking over from Alex Walker to manage the Kames Capital Property Income fund.

In his new role as head of active value property, Mr Bach will report to property investment director David Wise.

Mr Wise said: “Property has been a key focus for Kames for many years, with investor interest remaining particularly strong in the market segment we target."

Bach joined Kames Capital in 2012 from ING Real Estate Investment Management, where he was co-head of the direct segregated accounts team.

Before this, he was an asset manager for Jones Lang LaSalle, where he undertook the strategic asset management of the property assets in the BT and Royal Mail pension funds.
