Ex-Aviva man Aylward to run Barclays' MM business

Aviva Investors’ former head of multi-manager research Ian Aylward has moved to Barclays Wealth just months after joining pensions and savings business Punter Southall Aspire, Investment Adviser can reveal.

Mr Aylward spent five years at Aviva Investors, having founded its multi-manager team, but left the asset manager in March to join Punter Southall Aspire as investment director and head of DC manager research.

However, he has now moved to Barclays Wealth to run its multi-manager business. He will replace Jaime Arguello, who left to replace Caspar Rock as Architas' chief investment officer earlier this year.

Mr Rock left the Axa-owned multi-manager to become chief investment officer at Cazenove Capital Management, the wealth management arm of Schroders.

In his new role, Mr Aylward will report to Barclays Wealth chief investment officer Arne Hassel, leading on fund selection, investment and monitoring of managers and funds. He will also oversee the management of single and multi-asset funds in the firm's multi-manager business.
