Threadneedle raids M&G for Emea boss

Columbia Threadneedle has appointed Michelle Scrimgeour, M&G's chief risk officer, to head up its Emea division following the departure of Campbell Fleming earlier this year.

Ms Scrimgeour, who takes on chief executive roles for the Emea division and Threadneedle Asset Management, also joins the leadership team of parent company Ameriprise Financial.

She replaces Mr Fleming, who left Columbia Threadneedle in April to head global distribution at Aberdeen.

Ted Truscott, global chief executive at Columbia Threadneedle, said: "Michelle joins...at an exciting time as we further build our global business and continue to focus on delivering successful investment outcomes and solutions for our clients.”

Before joining M&G Ms Scrimgeour held a number of roles at BlackRock, including chief operating officer for international fixed income, global head of fixed income product and head of alternative investments.
