Pictet sales head Gaston exits

Pictet Asset Management head of UK sales Paul Gaston has left after almost ten years with the Swiss firm.

Mr Gaston left the business last month, having joined in 2007 and overseen the firm's shift towards the wholesale marketplace.

Pictet said it was seeking a replacement for Mr Gaston, who previously held roles at Fidelity and and Goldman Sachs and joined the firm to help increase its focus on fund of fund selectors, discretionary managers and other buyers.

The fund house has brought 17 strategies to the UK retail market since Mr Gaston's arrival, with a particular focus on specialist equity strategies such as agriculture and biotechnology.

Pictet also launched its first onshore product last year, moving in to multi-asset following the arrival of Percival Stanion, Andrew Cole, and Shaniel Ramjee from Baring Asset Management in November 2014.
